ORI Updates

We are pleased to announce that Sheila Garrity, JD, MPH, MBA will be joining ORI in March as the new Director.

ORI found that Alice C. Chang, Ph.D. (formerly named Chun-Ju Chang), who was an Associate Professor of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, PU, engaged in research misconduct in research supported by U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) funds, specifically National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH).

ORI thanks everyone who responded to the RFI. There will be additional opportunities to comment during the rulemaking process.

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) announces the opportunity for non-federal public and private sector entities to co-sponsor ORI events.

The Office of Research Integrity within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking highly qualified candidates for two positions: a Scientist-Investigator position within the Division of Investigative Oversight and an Education and Integrity Specialist position within the Division of Education and Integrity. The positions are full-time and are located at the Rockville, MD office. Candidates interested in applying for both positions should include “Investigator/Specialist” in the subject line of their email and address this in their expression of interest.

ORI Announces a Request for Information (RFI) on the 2005 Public Health Service Policies on Research Misconduct. 

ORI released forecasts for two funding opportunity announcements (FOAs) for research integrity grants: Ensuring Research Integrity - Research, Development, and Demonstration; and Ensuring Research Integrity - Conferences.

ORI found that Stuart G. Jarrett, Ph.D. (Respondent), former research-track assistant professor, Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology and Markey Cancer Center, University of Kentucky (UK) College of Medicine, engaged in research misconduct under 42 C.F.R. Part 93 in research supported by U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) funds, specifically National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), NIH, and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), NIH.

ORI awarded three Ensuring Research Integrity- Research, Development, and Demonstration grants.
