Upcoming Conference: The Tuskegee Experience
A conference will be held on April 19, 2012 at the National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC, in remembrance of the 80th anniversary of the start of the studies that occurred at Tuskegee. The event is directly sponsored by the Office of Sponsored Projects of the Smithsonian Institution, in collaboration with other institutions such as Navy Medicine, the Uniformed Services University, the Navy Medicine Veterans and Alumni Association, and others. -

Recent topics include Research Integrity (RI) and the Public Trust; RI and Bias; RI and Community-Based Participatory Research; and RI and Factors Affecting Researcher's Behavior.

Quest for Research Excellence Conference Rescheduled
The Quest for Research Excellence 2012 Conference has been rescheduled to March 15-16, 2012. Originally scheduled for August 2011, the conference was postponed due to Hurricane Irene shutting down travel to the DC area. The conference will feature a mini RCR Boot Camp and speakers such as NPR's Joe Palca. -
Hurricane Update: Quest for Research Excellence 2011 Conference Postponed
Friday, August 26, 2011, 1:50PM. With disappointment, we must announce that the Quest for Research Excellence Conference 2011 is postponed because of the likely path of Hurricane Irene. The Office of Research Integrity and Georgetown-Howard Universities regret this inconvenience. However, under the circumstances, we know that you understand that this postponement was considered carefully, with your safety in mind.
If you have transportation and hotel reservations, you may wish to cancel them immediately. To those in transit or already in Washington, D.C., we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding this decision. We will let everyone know when the conference is rescheduled. In the meantime, please contact ORI if we can be of any help.
