The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) has appointed Dr. Ranjini Ambalavanar as Acting Director of the Division of Investigative Oversight. Since joining ORI in 2009, she has handled more than 100 allegations of research misconduct. She replaces Dr. Ann Hohmann, who successfully completed her 120-day detail appointment.

Dr. H.M. Krishna Murthy committed research misconduct in research supported by PHS grants. Dr. Murthy requested a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) of the Departmental Appeals Board to dispute the findings.
