ORI’s Division of Investigative Oversight will be hiring a Health Scientist at the GS 13 level (pay range is $103,690 - $134,798). A Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences is required (transcripts are required at the time of application). The ideal candidate would possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, have a high-level of experience in performing scientific and administrative reviews and analyses (including common image-processing and statistical data-processing software and computational approaches), and have obtained extensive competencies in developing and performing qualitative and quantitative approaches for evaluating scientific research.
The Health Scientist will manage all activities related to assigned cases of alleged research misconduct in biomedical research studies, apply their technical knowledge and scientific expertise to develop overall plans to evaluate institutional research misconduct investigations and evaluate evidence and prepare cases to support findings of research misconduct and recommend administrative actions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated strong project management skills, sound interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
