Quest for Research Excellence Conference Rescheduled
The Quest for Research Excellence 2012 Conference has been rescheduled to March 15-16, 2012. Originally scheduled for August 2011, the conference was postponed due to Hurricane Irene shutting down travel to the DC area. The conference will feature a mini RCR Boot Camp and speakers such as NPR's Joe Palca.

Hurricane Update: Quest for Research Excellence 2011 Conference Postponed
Friday, August 26, 2011, 1:50PM. With disappointment, we must announce that the Quest for Research Excellence Conference 2011 is postponed because of the likely path of Hurricane Irene. The Office of Research Integrity and Georgetown-Howard Universities regret this inconvenience. However, under the circumstances, we know that you understand that this postponement was considered carefully, with your safety in mind.
If you have transportation and hotel reservations, you may wish to cancel them immediately. To those in transit or already in Washington, D.C., we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding this decision. We will let everyone know when the conference is rescheduled. ORI Regional Conference: Ethical Considerations in Research Collaborations
September 22 & 23, 2011. University of Washington, Seattle. The conference will focus on ethical challenges in three areas of research collaborations: (1) University-Industry Collaboration, (2) Researcher to Researcher Collaboration, and (3)Collaboration in the International Arena. The conference will benefit researchers, physicians, compliance officials, educators, research administrators, attorneys and government employees. Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows are especially encouraged to attend! -
Deadline 12/01/2011. The purpose of this exploratory/developmental grant program is to foster research on research integrity in areas of research that have little published data. The proposed project must challenge existing paradigms, be developed around an innovative hypothesis or address critical barriers to progress in understanding the multiple factors that underlie deviation from integrity in research.

The principles and responsibilities set out in the Singapore Statement on Research Integrity represent the first international effort to encourage the development of unified policies, guidelines and codes of conduct, with the long-range goal of fostering greater integrity in research worldwide. The Statement is the product of the collective effort and insights of the 340 individuals from 51 countries who participated in the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity.
