Program Development and Evaluation Program (PDE): This program seeks to support projects for the development and implementation of innovative approaches and tools to promote research integrity and prevent misconduct. This includes creating interventions based on empirical evidence, including findings from ORI-funded research, and tools to identify at-risk individuals or laboratories. This opportunity supports the creation and evaluation of interventions and assessment tools aimed at promoting research integrity.

Project Title: Evaluating and Dissemination of the Data Management Standard Operating Procedures (DMSOP) Toolkit
Abstract:
This project evaluates and refines the DMSOP Toolkit (previously funded by ORIIR210069-01-00) to ensure its relevance, clarity, and representativeness before release to the research community. A targeted sample of 50 data management professionals, 30 from the American Statistical Association (ASA) and 20 from the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), will complete surveys and provide qualitative feedback via open comments. Evaluation outcomes will include content validity metrics (CVR, CVI) and expert qualitative ratings, which will guide systematic refinement of the toolkit. Dissemination will include sharing results with ASA and ASCB members, PHS-funded stakeholders, and broader audiences through YouTube videos and other channels to promote adoption and implementation.

Project Title: Advancing Research Integrity through Structured Education in the Inland Empire (ARISE-IE): A Dual-Intervention Program for Mentorship and Leadership Training
Abstract:
The California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) proposes ARISE-IE, a dual-intervention program to strengthen research integrity in the rapidly growing Inland Empire. ARISE-IE combines two modular trainings, Mentorship for Research Integrity (MRI) for faculty mentors and Leadership for Ethical Research Culture (LERC) for department chairs, PIs, and administrators which is aimed at fostering accountability, transparency, and ethical oversight. Over 12 months, the program will conduct a needs assessment, develop and pilot curricula, and perform formative evaluation using surveys, interviews, and fidelity checklists. Key outcomes include enhanced RCR knowledge, improved institutional climate, and dissemination of open-access training and policy tools, providing a scalable model for emerging academic institutions.
