Project staff are not sure about the new DM asking them to do something the PI does not require.

Project staff complain to PI, and DM is called into question by PI. No training takes place and the DM does not worry about the need for training project staff involved in data-related activities as the PI has suggested and
does nothing.

Project staff go along with the DM and get trained. PI finds out about this and is not happy about DM asking project staff to spend their time in training.
