USPHS Policy requires at least five qualified IACUC members, including:
- One doctor of veterinary medicine
- One practicing scientist with experience in animal research
- One nonscientist
- One person unaffiliated with the institution
The UNH IACUC is a standing faculty committee, constituted according to federal regulations, but whose membership exceeds these minimum requirements.
