At UNH, the IACUC has five functions:
- Review all protocols involving vertebrate animals
- Conduct semi-annual reviews of programs and facilities
- Address concerns involving animals in research and teaching
- Advise faculty, staff, and students on humane animal care and use
- Serve in an advisory capacity to the Vice President for Research and Public Service
