Third World Conference on Research Integrity Coming In May
When the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) and the European Science Foundation (ESF) held the First World Conference on Research Integrity in 2007, we had no idea what would become of it. Held in Lisbon, the meeting attracted hundreds of participants from nearly 50 countries.
The enthusiasm from the first conference indicated the need to continue the work. In 2010, the Second World Conference on Research Integrity was held in Singapore and attracted several others countries and organizations worldwide. The meeting resulted in the Singapore Statement, which is a set of principles for encouraging a unified position for promoting integrity in reseearch.
Preparation for the Third World Conference on Research integrity occurred immediately after the 2010 event. The meeting is planned for May 6-8, 2013 in Montreal, Canada. With well over 100 speakers, the conference has the potential to be the most impactful meeting on the topic of international research integrity. The conference will focus on areas such as challenges associated with new technologies, responding to misconduct, international partnerships, and international standards.
Early registration ends March 1st, 2013. Early registration costs $650 while students can register for $250.
