Peer reviewers should:

  • Read the proposal or manuscript thoroughly. Reviewers are often asked to provide a summary. This indicates that the reviewers understand the critical issues in the document.
  • Perform a critical analysis of the manuscript or proposal. The peer review system is dependent upon reviewers who bring a high level of professional competence to the review process.
