Fabrication
is defined as "Making up data or results and recording or reporting
them" (OSTP 2000).
Examples of fabrication
include, but are not limited to:
- Faking experiments
and/or results to validate or support a hypothesis
- Creating responses
from human subjects
- Inflating results
to support a grant proposal
- Reporting anticipated
results in advance of conducting the activity
