The current Federal Policy (Common Rule) for the Protection of Human Subjects has been codified by 17 government departments and agencies. Some departments and agencies have additional regulations governing research involving special populations or specific issues over which they have jurisdiction. For instance, the Department of Health and Human Services has regulations governing the use of prisoners and children in research. |
