Short Case Study - Video Clip VI

VIDEO-CLIP VI. WHAT IS THE ISSUE SURROUNDING SIMULTANEOUS vs SEQUENTIAL SCANNING?

Summary

A few days later Jane is back in the lab. She notices Erik, a post doc working in the lab, and expresses frustration at her lack of experience with the equipment. He has seen her data in a manuscript in the lounge and asks how she did the scans. When Jane says that she did a simultaneous scan, Erik explains that simultaneous scans can cause bleed-through artifacts. Jane's concern increases.

Did Jane do enough controls for her experiment?

Yes, the simultaneous scans were sufficient
No, sequential scans should have been done, too.
