ORI Announces 2017 Quest for Research Excellence Conference

Quest for Research Excellence Conference
Location: The George Washington University, Washington, DC
Date:  August 7-9, 2017

The Office of Research Integrity, The George Washington University (GWU), and Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research are pleased to co-sponsor the 2017 Quest for Research Excellence Conference.  The meeting will be hosted by GWU.

The goal of the Quest for Research Excellence Conference is to fuel knowledge sharing among all the parties involved in promoting the responsible conduct of research and scientific integrity, from scientists to educators, administrators, government officials and journal editors. True to its ambition of “breaking down the silos” the conference will be organized around four themes, each tackled from the perspectives of various stakeholders: research misconduct, the responsible conduct of research, the legal implications of research misconduct, and scientific publications. Plenary and breakout sessions will address cross-cutting topics related to each of these four themes, from case studies highlighting key aspects of the handling of research misconduct cases to discussions on the dissemination of science in 2017.

We are pleased to announce that Sir Philip Campbell, Editor-in-Chief of Nature publications, will be delivering the keynote address.
