At UNH, the IRB has five functions:

  • Review all research studies involving human subjects
  • Address concerns involving the use of human subjects in research
  • Advise faculty, staff, and students on the ethical conduct of research involving people
  • Conduct appropriate reviews of the University's program and develop guidelines to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the Vice President for Research and Public Service
