The safety committees are responsible for
the following with regard to their areas of concern:
- Establishing policies and procedures for
the use of hazardous materials and related equipment
- Providing guidance to relevant OEHS staff
- Establishing and maintaining policies
and guidelines for the authorization and oversight of protocols employing
hazardous materials, where applicable
- Ensuring UNH compliance with all applicable
local, state, and federal regulations, and license-specific requirements
- Reviewing annual audits of the health
and safety programs, where applicable
