The safety committees are responsible for the following with regard to their areas of concern:

  • Establishing policies and procedures for the use of hazardous materials and related equipment
  • Providing guidance to relevant OEHS staff
  • Establishing and maintaining policies and guidelines for the authorization and oversight of protocols employing hazardous materials, where applicable
  • Ensuring UNH compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and license-specific requirements
  • Reviewing annual audits of the health and safety programs, where applicable
