Examples of situations in which data may be required to be retained beyond the controlling period:
- Prevailing sponsored agreement(s) that stipulate a retention period of greater than three years
- Data are relevant to an open allegation
of misconduct or financial conflict of interest in research, or to an
open case of litigation, claim, or audit that exceeds the controlling
period
