    A significant financial interest is defined in the UNH policy as:
  • “Any current financial interest of the researcher and his/her immediate family that could reasonably appear to be affected by the activities proposed for funding;
  • Any interest held by the researcher and his/her immediate family in a business entity who financial interests might reasonably appear to be affected by such activities” (UNH Policy on Financial Conflict of Interest, 1995).
