Authorship   Responsible Publication (cont.) 8 of 8

An author citing his/her own unpublished work must be careful to attribute the proper status to the manuscript, such as listing a manuscript as submitted only when it has been submitted, not in anticipation of expected submission.

An author should only list manuscripts as accepted for publication or in press if he/she has received a galley proof, page proof, or a letter from the publisher stating that publication has been approved.
